Belgium v South Korea

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Despite losing a muscle man
Belgie’s stellar partisans
Lifted their team toward this victory
With a show of such support
Any neutral here would have thought
The man sent off inspired team unity?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Those nippy South Koreans
Buzzed around like bees
Firing crosses in with venom from both wings
While the giant tween the Belgie sticks
Except for a cross almost drifting in
Rarely had concerns for anything troubling him.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 As the night progressed we knew
That one from the other two
Were playing for second place to qualify
While the strength in this Belgie team
With it’s drive and self belief
Is the one from four that really caught the eye.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 A blend of mettle, pace and youth
With a boss who’s tactically astute
Bodes well to deal with whatever fate may throw
Now after watching their last three games
Belgie’s versed in their style of play
Refer to every match as: “The Wilmot’s Late, Late, Show”.

Notes

Belgium seem to have a real unity about them, and often remind me of Dutch sides from the past. Down to ten men last night, for over half the game, they counter attacked the South Korean box with five man on occasion, looking to win the game. Which was wonderful to watch. When a draw would have been enough They can and will only get better.

Lakaku and Hazard have not really turned up have they, and without Benteke. They’ve still managed to qualify with maximum points which says a lot about their terrific team ethic I think.

Stay well, be lucky and keep smiling.

Peace.

Kev.
