Hi Footie Poets,
As a contributor to this site I wonder if it would be possible to post the following notice …

How Many Poets Does It Take To Change A Light Bulb?

As many performing poets as possible are needed for a Guinness World Record bid during the Manchester Comedy Festival in late October 2008. Tony Kinsella and Cat Davies will attempt to recruit and organise the maximum number of poets to perform in a single gig, each poet performing for 3 – 4 minutes on stage, depending on final numbers. As well as trying to set a new world record, the event will raise money via donations for the Teenage Cancer Trust. This does mean that no performers will receive payment/expenses, but it is an opportunity to be part of history and enjoy a madcap night of comic poetry and chaos, as well as making a contribution to a worthy cause. If you are interested contact me personally at anthony.kinsella1@ntlworld.com or register your interest at reverberatelit@hotmail.co.uk. Poetry can be football-related but entirely at your discretion. All poets must have performed one gig in front of a live audience and must perform original self-penned material in order for the world record to be ratified.
Sign up, folks, it should be fun, fun, fun! Venue and date still being negotiated but all respondents will be notified about this in a very short while, ages prior to the event.
