“Topsy Turvey Cup”

Nine times out of ten
A semi-final’s a ‘must win’
But pushing for play-offs with a fixture pile-up
Means losing won’t be a sin.
In the modern world the League’s more important
With going up the ultimate aim
If we’re not going full pelt tonight
Is there really any blame?
Back here on Saturday
Three Isthmian points at stake
Do we really need that extra game
With a place in the final at stake?
In an ideal football world
We’ll make a clean sweep of the three
Truth is I’ll settle for the play-off one
As it’s National League South I want to be.
