Don’t talk to me of sin.

Word that I was saying.
I bet you never felt a tingle
When the teams were playing.

I prayed to you throughout the game,
With gnashing and with weeping.
I imprecated in your name,
But you were likely sleeping.

Religion’s a two-way concern,
It’s full of quid pro quos.
I worship you, and in return,
You let us humble Bohs.

Instead of which, you let us lose.
You do not intervene.
You have the most frustrating views
That I have ever seen.

You’re cheating and you’re swindling.
No wonder you are in decline
And congregations dwindling.

It wouldn’t have been a strain.
But no, “We must remain inert.
We must not seek to gain.”
