You came like locusts, insects many, ravenous and greedy,
Were we to know that what you wanted was selfish, cruel and seedy,
You wanted to consume our fame, then waddle in the mire,
Gnawing at the sinews of the remnants of the fire.

You sang allegiance to the cause with every faithful fan,
But when it didn’t go your way you turned around and ran,
You turned up late, stood in the way and left before the end,
All the while you courted me and said you were a friend.

And when our Premiership days were done and destiny reverted,
Where did you go, where did you hide, the terraces deserted,
I hate you with a passion now, for your treachery in junta,
But I also scorn and pity you, you’re just a glory hunter.
