A Tattered Shirt

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The Shirt I wore on this wonderful day
Has been through such a titanic battle
Now it is tattered, tattered I say
And somehow it is such a matter.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Possibly because we’ve seen so much
This great shirt and I
We saw the UEFA Cup and such
We saw memories that fade and die.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 We saw the Liverbird upon our chest
We saw the Kop roar
We saw Brucie with his spaghetti legs
We saw our dreams soar.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 We saw in 2001, a treble winning season
Players coming and going
Fowler joining Leeds
Houllier’s pain and woe.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Now we see a brighter future
We are sure its true
I put my shirt on with pride
I then remember, I have brought two.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 The tattered shirt left with memories
Some I long to forget too
We would always remember the stories
And with a new shirt, memories are new.
