And The Reds Played On (and the band played on)

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Bill Shankly built a football club
That beat all the rest for style
Smithy Cally Rowdy and Hall
And when Saturday came ’round each week
The Anfield Boys put on a show
The Liverpool Way pass and moving the ball
Each Saturday we’d see them
Dressed head to toe in the red
Each lad played his heart out with passion and pride
And Shanks led them onto the park
The Kopites would sing to the skies
For here was the man who had given them joy

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 For Shankly he’d stand there and wave his boys on
And the reds played on
They’d race across the park pass and moving the ball
And the reds played on
Their boots were so loaded with goals they exploded
The other teams shook with alarm
He built us the sides that would conquer the world
And the reds played on….
