Anfield, home…

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 What dreams I’ve dreamed a thousand times
A thousand more to be
Stood with me mates and roared the names
All heroes they to me
What tears I’ve cried a thousand times
A thousand more there’ll be
Saw Shankly proud in The Spion Kop
His spirit shining free
Oh yes there’s been such glory days
A thousand more shall be
Before they close the old place down
And leave just memories
The teams that built the Anfield dreams
A thousand tireless feet
All came here with a burning prayer
And set our wishes free
Bob’s cardie hangs up on its peg
Joe’s trackie with his boots
And there with his chest puffed out with pride
Is Shanks in his Cagney suit!
