Anthem of the Shin

Stockings of Japan

Notes

This is inspired by a tweet from my brother-in-law, Chris Cantrell (not sure if the following link will embed it successfully with pic. If not, it reads as follows: ‘After giving it some real thought I’m going to front up now & make a call: Japan have the best socks at the World Cup.’

Chris gave his blessing for the haiku and also offered the quirky title. Apparently ‘shin’ in Japanese also means the ‘inner core’ of something and ‘truth, faith and sincerity’ among other senses of the word.
