2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I attended this match
And brought my bairn
If the Prem be a pile of stones
We’re no longer top of the cairn

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The atmosphere was mixed
The title beyond our reach
Performances lately have been ragged
And points we’ve allowed to leach

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 After a nervy jittery start
We soon rolled in a handsome three
Good to be back on track
And to see us on a spree

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 An-to-ni-o, An-to-ni-o!
An-to-ni-o, An-to-ni-o!

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 The manager certainly had our backing
His name chanted between every score
For support he wasn’t lacking
From this unified hard-core

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 An-to-ni-o, An-to-ni-o!
An-to-ni-o, An-to-ni-o!

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 With each and every gesture
As he frolicked on the line
The Shed burst into song
That sent a tingle down his spine

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 An-to-ni-o, An-to-ni-o!
An-to-ni-o, An-to-ni-o!

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 And such did he acknowledge
When pressed the next day
His partisanship with the crowd
Encouraging him to stay!

Notes

12/2/2018
Attended CFC v WBA, 3-0
Goals: Hazard, Moses, Hazard

Giroud made his full debut.

Best performances:
Andreas Christensen and Johnny Evans, plus…. as ever…
Antonio Conté, patrolling the touchline with animation!

After a run of bad results, normal service resumed.
The press have been agitating for Abramovich to sack Conté, but the Blues fans certainly nailed their colours to the mast!

For us: he is the One! (Matrix reference – geddit! Reflected in poem title)
