Bring on the Clown

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Almost twenty thousand polish fans
will be inside Wembley tonight,
they should create some noise
and be packed in together tight.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But will they witness a victory
and stop England once more ?
just like they did many years ago
when the “clown” shut the door.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Poland haven’t anything to play for
and could be blasé and carefree,
so can they cause an upset
just like they did in 1973 ?

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Then their keeper was called a joke
but he made save after save,
he was Poland’s hero that night
and showed he was smart and brave.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But the Three Lions should win this match
as Poland don’t really hold any fear,
so England should be home and dry
and on their way to Brazil next year ?

Notes

England should win tonight but as we know they can let us down.
But with a decent support behind them the Poles could make it difficult.

I remember that match in 73 we through everything at their keeper who Cloughie called a clown.

But he had the last laugh by keeping us out.
It should be an interesting night ahead !
