Cheats Never Prosper, Do They?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 France and the Republic of Ireland
Should play their game once again
Because the Irish have been robbed
Of their chance to go to the World Cup.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I feel real sympathy for the Irish fans
Who witnessed their team being “cheated”
I’m an Englishman and I feel really angry
Why do these incidents keep on happening?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 It just needs one player to have the bottle
To stop the game when it happens
Say to the referee I handled the ball
Or no, the defender never touched me.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 But I don’t envisage that occuring
Not with so much at stake these days
But the player who made that stand
Would earn so much respect in the game.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Football is earning a “cheating” reputation
Something needs to be done very soon
France may be going to the World Cup
But they really don’t deserve to !

Could you imagine the scenes if England had been playing in France, instead of the Irish ? I shudder to think of the English fans reaction,but we know what would have probably happened, a lot of trouble.
But the real loser in all of this, is football, something needs to be sorted out sooner than later,especially in high profile matches,it’s too important.
