Chelsea 1-2 Man City

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 No more Twin Towers at Wembley
As in Terry and Lampard
Now it’s an arch like our own overarching ambition
As we do away with the old guard

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Rightly or wrongly?
Can the new boys on the block cut it?
What do we lose
When the swanky try to strut it?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 And all under ‘Mr Interim’
Big boy Benny at the helm
So near and yet so far
As the results start to underwhelm

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Goal one,
Yaya charges, Nasri scores
And it’s the light blues
That spark Wembley roars

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Goal two,
Too soon after the break
As Barry crosses
It’s Aguerro on the make

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Goal three, Torres on as sub
Makes an immediate impact
Ba on the volley
The City net no longer intact

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 And then the controversy
Aguerra should have seen red
And Kompany the shirtlifter
Ensures our hopes are torn a-shred

Notes

FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley

Better team on the day did win, but this being football…..

Aguerro’s two footed lunge onto the prone David Luis should have produced a red card (and yes, Luis should have been booked for the elbow’d lead into the challenge).

And then very clever defending from Kompany : lifting Torres’ shirt almost over his head as he advanced on goal – a definite penalty, but on the blindside of the ref and linesperson, so no penalty given.

The offense was obvious on tv replays, and in the papers the next day, but justice wasn’t served 🙁

So the final will be contested between Man City v Wigan.

C’mon Wigan!
