Christmas 1952.

It snowed heavy on that Christmas eve
Back in 1952
The dawn brought Christmas morning
And with it dreams came true.
Fot there on the chair
Beside my bed
A laced up football
Crimson red
A pair of boots
With laces white
I put them on
And tied them tight.
And a Stanley Mathews annual
Which I read by candle-light
Clutching my crimson red football
In my boots with laces white.
