Circus Clowns

Like a band of clowns,
with painted frowns,
howled at in laughter.

but with confidence confided,
a cog in the wheel added,
emotion is moved.

With a Norse God’s hammer,
El capitan leads,
striking the anvil,
making good his deed.
¶ 4

Previously jeered,
now revered,
by way of a feint,
of a striking hand,
it now looks possible.
¶ 5

Spanish sword lunged,
parried into instinct’s eyes,
thrusting the blade upwards,
making the strike.

Empty unable to fuel anymore,
the running of tiredness,
retaliation awaited,
defence will not confess.

No time left,
taking two to the chest,
like Fi’ty Cent,
alive enough for the final test.

Local hero telling the accidental comic,
about the intentional comic of old.
Oh how sweetly it all comes around,
when past teaches the present,
and the circus finally goes round town.
