Congratulations Cork

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Bloody good result, boys, survived the sturm und drang,
A goalless draw away from home ‘gainst Neeskens and his gang,
Pulverise them at the Cross and leave them out to hang.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The draw away was great, boys, you’ve now a brilliant chance,
To make a bit of history and steadily advance,
Another good result and ye’ll be heading down to France.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The Dutch are in your sights, boys, you’ve got them on the run,
Though Dolan knows there’s still a lot of hard work to be done,
At least ye’re heading southwards, getting closer to the sun.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The nerves will be on edge, boys, the knuckles will be white,
Each Dutch attack must be repulsed, defending must be tight,
Whenever danger looms, the Shed must blow with all their might.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Your horse is in the lead, boys, being whipped on by the jockey,
We’re confident he’ll do it, though the track ahead is rocky,
Though it’s not like the men of Cork to come on over-cocky!

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Good luck against the Dutch, boys, enjoy that Europe buzz,
The league all hopes ye make it (well, a large proportion does)
Keep thinking internationally and leave the League to us.
