Cup Tie

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Expecting a bit of a battle
I picked up my rosette and rattle
The blood pressure’s up
Fifth round of the Cup
Clanking through turnstiles like cattle

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 On the terrace we stood
Near the stand made of wood
It was blowing a blizzard
Wind cutting like scissors
I wished my coat had a hood

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Our chances were slim
According to him
But then what do these pundits know?
We gave it our all to put on a show
Dazzling skill made the floodlights look dim

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 We stood man and son
Watched our boys run and run
Deserving at least a replay
Hoping it’s not their day
We scored a last minute cracker and won!

Notes

Purely fictitious of course as being a Norwich City supporter I know little about winning cup games. Knowing little has never stopped me before so thought I’d write it anyway!
