1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Cool as Sinatra
The loose-limbed
Philosophical lines
Pulled the famished
Black and white heart
Towards the natural light
Of a brilliant sun
That warmed did not burn
Forged a hole through defences
Big as the canyon and poured
Into it the riches of genius
That gathered in the shadow
The football soul that is love
Despair madness grief and joy
The joy that touched both sides
Of the rainbow
With integrity anatomy and glory
Balanced as a cat on a wall.
