Everton 2 Liverpool 3 (march 2001)

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 A warm summer’s eve March 2001
We’re chasing a treble bring the bluenoses on
Many happy returns for the reds at this park
We’d be happy again by the time it was dark

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Carra to God then Hamann on course
First blood to us and it’s Heskey who scores
The blues they hit back with a few fancy tricks
But we all had a laugh when Big Dunc mis-kicked!

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 But Ferguson’s equaliser soon after came
The Gwladys street hearts picked up again
But Markus Babbel appeared like the Holy Ghost
Took a ball from God and placed it between the blue posts

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 2-1 to the Reds tho’ it should have been three
When Gough scythed God and Winter gave a penalty
God’s boots struck hard but it wasn’t to be
The blues started laughing, typically

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Sander saved well from Xavier’s head
“Hamann handled that ball!” “Didi didn’t !” We said
Igor’s sent off and the toffees grow bold
Their pressure applied and soon it all told

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Big Sami pushed Ferguson and the big blue complained
Unsworth stepped up made it all level again
Reds step up their attack the game’s not over yet
For Macca’s shot flew past their wall and settled in ther net

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 3-2 to us it’s magic now the rest is history
A Treble Winning summer boys and then the Champions League
Of all the goals that Macca scored (God Bless his baldy head!)
There’s none so sweet Blues 2 Reds 3 (even his Barca pen!)
