1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Why are you complaining
That your hands and feet are numb?
I know that it is raining
And you cannot feel your bum.
But what about that shot
That came a minute from the start?
Don’t tell me that did not
Warm up the cockles of your heart.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I know you think it’s boring
And you don’t care if we win.
I distinctly heard you snoring
When the second goal went in.
But can’t you see the wonder
Of the perfect slide-rule pass,
With defenders pulled asunder,
Going skidding on the grass?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I realise the singing
Can be a trifle coarse.
I know your ears are ringing,
And I’m feeling slightly hoarse.
But can’t you feel the passion,
The fervour and the swell.
Sure, Burberry’s in fashion
So you fit in really well.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Hey, Sandra, where ya going?
The game’s not over yet.
The match is really flowing,
And I’m sorry you got wet.
Don’t mind that nasty shower.
The bedraggled look is great!
You’ve only got about an hour
And thirty five to wait.
