Football is the Game of the Name

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 There’s a team that trots out at Tolworth
in pink, blue and chocolate brown,
they are not called Corinthian City,
nor known as Corinthian Town..
Corinthian Rovers is highly unlikely
and it can’t be Corinthian United..
wish I could remember the name of the club
that gets Reverend Arthur excited…
Definitely not Corinthian Wanderers,
while Corinthian Rangers doesn’t sound right,
(perhaps I should have asked Arthur’s brother
when he called round to visit last night)..
Corinthian Athletic seems somewhat improbable,
though Corinthian Albion could they possibly be?
I would casually mention it to Arthur,
but he won’t discuss football with me…

Notes

My beloved husband, the Reverend Arthur Twaddle, supports a team called Corinthian-something or other. Perhaps you dear reader, would like to follow them too, even if only on a casual basis (I will try to find out their proper name for you). Maybe you could look for them by doing a Goggle search (Arthur wore goggles when he rode a motorcycle)…
