Gandhi

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Gandhi he could play football
The wizard of the wing (like Matthews)
There were fans all over England
“The Half-naked Fakir”
They would sing
As he skinned Churchill
And left him standing all played out
He didn’t wear a football jersey
and his kit was always thin strips of cloth
So the kids took to chanting
“Gandhi where’s yer pants?”
And without taking his eyes of the ball
He would smile
Letting them know he had heard
As he slipped past defences…
Gandhi, the Mahatma
He was untouchable.
