Green Fingered

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 How we cheered when
Gerrard galloped onto
Heskey’s cute pass
to slide the ball past Howard.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 How we jeered when
Green’s gaffe gifted
you essay a way
back into the match.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 How we sneered when
Heskey hit the ball
straight at Howard
when clean through on goal.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 How we sighed when
the ref blew to signal
the end of the game;
a nation’s shoulders drooped.

Notes

I’m back! It’s taken me this long to recover from Swindon’s play off defeat! Sorry Rob but you’ll never be an England goalie because you’re not good enough & I’m not just being wise after the event; it was the first thing I said to one of my sons when the team was announced.
