In the stands

I’m sitting in the stands
My hands in my grandad’s hands
We’re waiting for the teams
To build or crush our dreams.
It’s raining.

It’s half time in the stands
Grandad’s holding my cold hands
Inside have gone the teams
To hear the Gaffer’s dreams.
It’s still raining.

Game over, leaving stands
Clutched programme in my hands
Game a draw, no goal each team
See our town win was my dream.
I’m wet.
