Johnny English

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 “You have made me feel English” – Sven Goran Eriksson

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 What does he mean?
Wet and grey?
Like a month in Manchester
Green and pleasant?
Doesn’t seem to apply
Does he indulge in the national past time
Of greed and buy, buy, buy?
Cup of tea
In times of crisis
Put the kettle on; it’s priceless
Our ability to hype the trivial
And hide the pivotal
Fat and greasy?
Like the piles of chips we eat
Or the way we gloat in victory
Or turn sour and fight in defeat
Someone left England to go abroad
And was asked what she missed about home
”A decent Chinese takeaway”
Not the weather or our love to moan
So, Sven, have you been misquoted?
Did you say someone made you a full English
With bacon, eggs and beans?
Well, Sven; is that what you mean?

Notes

Don’t know what English feels like. I know what England feels like. All disappointed and deflated and dozy and dire … but we won!!! It can only get better…
