Leave ‘Van The Man’ Alone

This poem goes out in tribute,
To Ruud Van Nistelrooy,
He’s been a hero to me, as well as
Every other boy.

His hair, his build and strength
All helping to ensure,
There’s something for the ladies too,
So who could ask for more?

Now I’m tired of all the people
Who say my hero cheats,
It’s defenders, who won’t kick the ball,
They always kick his feet.

They do this for one reason
They know too well, I’m sure
If Ruud is let near goal at all
There is no doubt he’ll score.

So leave him alone I tell you
Just let the poor man be
The whining of opposing fans
Depicts their jealousy

He is the best at what he does
Among the world’s elite
And because he plays for the opposite team
You all call him a cheat

Swallow pride, and recognise
Talent where it is found
Whether it be in your own home
Or another team’s home ground

And to conclude, I’ll just say that
I don’t support ‘Man U’
But I can still admit out loud
How cool a player is Ruud!
