Leeds Heavy 4 Goal Thrashing by the Arsenal

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Leeds heavy 4 goal thrashing by the Arsenal
Just demonstrates a mighty gulf in class an’all
Well softened by bombardment from the Gunners
And skewered by the pace of their front runners

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 They fizzled and they sputtered like a candle
But basically just couldn’t get a handle
They strung together spells of nifty passing
But lost it to a side that were outclassing

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Their efforts in all sectors of the park
Cos tactically they didn’t have the spark
Reid pulls despairing faces from the dugout
But fans would like to see his monkey mug out

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 What can you say? they’re bumping on rock bottom
Solutions? well yours truly’s yet to spot ‘em
The strike force have completely lost their bite
Defence and midfield tactics don’t look right

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 They’ve had a trilogy of 4 goal thrashings
Which says to me they’ll only get the mashings
Leeds better say a prayer to the Almighty
But what’s the point, how could it get more shitey?

Notes

I’ve been chronicling Leeds terrible year [2003], as I
said. This one was an earlier game from the Pompey
thrashing – one of the three “4 Goal Thrashings” they
suffered in the Autumn: Leicester, Everton and the
Arsenal.

Leeds 1 : Arsenal 4 on 1 November 2003
