Liverpool Born

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I was born in the town of Liverpool
And I grew up to love but one team
From the young age of 7 I went off to heaven
And no better sights have I seen
I saw 11 red shirts in the sunshine
11 great men of our club
They walked on to the park as we sang from our hearts
“Ee-Aye- Addio We’ve Won The Cup!”

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Saw the gold of the name Kevin Keegan
Saw the iron that Tommy Smith was
And there on the wings for the angels did fling
Stevie Heighway from heaven to us
There was Shankly a prince amongst men
His words a philosophy true
The football he preached so easy to teach
It’s simple, you just pass and move

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Bob Paisley the conqueror of Rome
A man born for greatness in deed
His cap was his crown and with him around
The redmen ruled Europe as Kings
Joe Fagan a red through and through
The first treble was his to bring home
Just for a year he gave us such cheer
One of the best and he’ll never walk alone

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 King Kenny the finest we’ve seen
And the first name on any Reds team
He gave us such pride then built a great side
Some say the best reds that there’s been
Souness as a player he was boss
And the others knew what to expect
But his judgement was wrong when he talked to the s**
Lost our love and all our respect

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Roy Evans served the Liverpool well
And God knows with his heart how he tried
But the titles we yearned just couldn’t be earned
Even with God in our side
Now Gerry has taken the helm
And he said that five years we would need
We’ve won the cup treble but still wait for the title
And a place in the champion’s league

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Now some say we’re over and finished
Our glory days fading with time
The titles we won when Rush scored for fun
To the yesterday memories consigned
But the Liverpool blood in my veins
Is as strong and as rich as could be
And it runs for the cause of the Reds
Just like my father’s before me.
