Liverpool Days

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Walked with me Dad on Saturdays
To join the crowd down the Walton Breck Road
And those streets paved with truth and glory
And none would ever accept fools gold
Watched me heroes every man
In wind and rain and shine
Gave my heart and found me soul
Its taste like Holy Wine

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Wrapped up in our beloved red scarves
We’d shout and roar each name
And true glimpsed heaven once or twice
At the end relive each game
Later I’d stand with me mates
And we’d really rock and roll
Then after we would copy our heroes
The back wall of Woolies making the goal

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Dalglish he came in 77
A Celtic Bhoy was he
But once he changed the green for red
He became our greatest King
His magic shone with genius
No other touched his boots
The angels watched whenever he played
They miss him, just like us

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And yes I am romantic
When I bring those days to mind
But there’s never been a better place
Or a better time
For here red rainbows shine as gold
There’s hearts all singing proud
And there above me angels walk
Through the wind and rain and clouds

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 There’s songs that reach up to the skies
Each word now claims its wings
And here am I where Redmen walk
Hoping victory they will bring
Before my eyes a sea of red
I dare not look away
Once more Dalglish his boots on fire
Will bring us joy this day…
