LOSING TO PLYMOUTH

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 You’d never been to a live game,
you said
so I chose the Plymouth match
(three easy points to get you started).

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We scored the first goal and the last.
Pity,
about the five they scored in-between
(yes, I know I look down-hearted).

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 On the way out, you tried to console me;
all feminine,
and unsure of what to say-
(Come on now, no point dwindling on the past).

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And at least we saw a lot of goals!
You surmised
as I cast you the coldest glance
(reflecting how your first game would be your last).
