With his ‘small team’ Everton jibe
But now I’m much more put out
By the Gillette / Hicks ‘Franchise’ vibe

That they actually used the ‘F’ word
Weren’t they warned? Taught the history?
That the ‘Dublin Dons’ idea was (supposedly) absurd?

That Milton Keynes (of all places!) set the precedent
That money now commands and directs
So go sod the residents

I’ve left it a week – and I’m still seething!

(but not Seething Wells 😉

This poem relates to the interviews given by Liverpool’s new owners, whereby they constantly refered to the club as a ‘franchise’ – my pet hate – I consider it a swear word – I personally feel that the history of all our clubs is one of the most alluring part of the make-up of our beautiful game.
