Soon became an Anfield name
With skill and pace like his,
We need him every game

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 ’97 saw his premiership debut
And there wasn’t long to wait.
Until world-wide fame beckoned,
Thanks to world-cup ’98.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The world soon Knew St Michael’s name,
After his skill shone at St Etienne.
Let’s hope he wins more with the reds,
And wows all Anfield yet again.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 He dazzles with his trickery,
And wows them with his pace.
He left the toffees reeling,
After firing home a brace.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 He smashed Rush’s school-boy record,
His Anfield haul is for the taking
With over 100 goals already,
Let’s hope more records he’ll be breaking.
