My Grandad the Blue

My Grandad used to say to me
‘Don’t stand on the Kop they’ll only pee!’
But Grandad’ I’d say, ‘It’s perfectly safe
I’ll be fine, keep the faith!”

So off I’d go to watch the Pool
And think to myself this is cool
I wish I could bring Grandad too
But he’s not red but an Everton blue!

Once in the Kop I’d swing and sway
And support our boys the Liverpool way
Hoping and praying for a goal or more
Liverpool 0 Arsenal 0 what a score bore!

The referee finally ends the game
Beaten 2-0 what a shame
But here I stand upon the Kop
A feeling deep within I can never top!

My Grandad is no longer here
His memory I’ll always hold dear
The Kop now sadly has gone too
In heavens stadium with my Grandad the blue!
