My Grandad the Blue

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 My Grandad used to say to me
‘Don’t stand on the Kop they’ll only pee!’
But Grandad’ I’d say, ‘It’s perfectly safe
I’ll be fine, keep the faith!”

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 So off I’d go to watch the Pool
And think to myself this is cool
I wish I could bring Grandad too
But he’s not red but an Everton blue!

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Once in the Kop I’d swing and sway
And support our boys the Liverpool way
Hoping and praying for a goal or more
Liverpool 0 Arsenal 0 what a score bore!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The referee finally ends the game
Beaten 2-0 what a shame
But here I stand upon the Kop
A feeling deep within I can never top!

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 My Grandad is no longer here
His memory I’ll always hold dear
The Kop now sadly has gone too
In heavens stadium with my Grandad the blue!

Notes

For my Grandad Joe who passed away on 20th October 1995 ages 83! He was my best friend and loved football whether it was Everton or Liverpool! Everyday I miss him, so this is for him! :o)
