And a masochistic streak
Can you withstand lots of pressure
Be the centre of attention every week ?
Well I’ve just the job for you
Seeing you’ve got thick skin
There’s a shortage of referees
So when can you begin ?
No it don’t matter that you’ve never played
Or that the fans will think your a fool
As long as you can make dodgy decisions
And don’t understand the offside rule.
Yes you’ll be called obscene names
And players will swear at you
Just pretend you know what your doing
Even though you ain’t got a clue.
So all the best in your new career
It’ll be the best thing you’ve ever done
But as your first game is Celtic versus Rangers
You’ll need lots of red cards and a gun !

Notes

We’ve all had a pop at them haven’t we ? But we have to admit, they do have a tough job. But in the Championship you do seem to get refs who give some very strange decisions in games,and some wouldn’t look out of place in charge of games over the park on a Sunday morning.
