Ode to Sir Alex

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Fergie, oh Fergie, we bless the day
You walked into Old Trafford and took us away
From mediocrity, from despair
To a veritable cascade of silverware

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 You brought us Eric, what a deal
1.2 million, considered a steal
A privilege to see him play for the Reds
A pleasant dream as we lay in our beds

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The Nou Camp, the final, 3 minutes to go
We were optimistic, then we were low
When you brought on Ole and Teddy to score
‘The Treble is ours’ we started to roar

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Great players you bought we’re proud to have seen
Hughesy and Pally, Scholesy and Keane
So stay a while longer, there’s more to be done
Records to topple, cups to be won

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 We had almost lost you a few years back
But worthy replacements, a distinct lack
It could have been Sven or even O’Neill
None of them had that Fergie appeal

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So stay with United for many years yet
The legend continues with more twists I’ll bet
As United fans, in glory we bask
Who could replace you? An awesome task
