Notes

Apologies to Robin Scott, who wrote and recorded

Reference is made here to some of the tourist landmarks that are being proposed as venues to give added attraction, a ‘wow’ factor, to the bids; especially now as under new IOC laws, committee members are no longer allowed to travel to the proposed venues to be wined and dined.

The cities in the running, are :
New York, London, Paris, Rio, Madrid, Moscow, Havana, Istanbul and Leipzig.

London announced as the venus for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Paris had been the clear favourite throughout.

The shortlist of five, was between London, Paris, Madrid, New York and Moscow.
London was ahead in each round of voting bar the second round, when Madrid was ahead.
