We’d decorate the window in colours of blue
The neighbours in shades of red too
All because Liverpool and Everton where walking the Wembley way
Who would win I really couldn’t say.

The streets where empty as kick off drew near
This was the forecast every year
For Liverpool and Everton where the only two teams
To lift the FA Cup in the field of dreams.

A Rushie strike dented blue pride
Healing tears of those that cried
Didn’t really matter who won that day
But Liverpool walked the Wembley Way.
