Pat

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 So you know all about it, is that what ye think?
Lazy, stupid, or what?
Nod to yer mate there, give him a wink
Yous can both laugh at poor oul Pat.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I hear he has done a misdeed or two
Been punished, or so we would hope
And now he has nothin’ better to do
Than watch the gee-gees, or the soap

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 He hasn’t made very much of his life
Well, nothin’ like you an’ yer mate
Didn’t even manage to find a wife
And now, for sure, it’s too late

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 He wouldn’t accuse ye of bein’ judgemental
I doubt if he knows what it means
He’s got his TV on monthly rental
His dinner is burnt toast and beans

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But before ye decide that he’s not worth a toss
Try an’ put yerself in his place
Picture a boy who, whenever he cried
Was toul’ not to pull such a face

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Did ever yer da give yer ma a good smack
The minute she walked in the door?
And whenever ye tried t’ jump on his back
Ye were threw like a sack on the floor

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 He was never over endowed with brains,
Well, not like you an’ yer mate
He had t’ look after the other wee’uns
An’ never had much food on his plate

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 Yes, it’s true, we all have our crosses to bear
But I’m just sayin’, don’t judge too quick
Try an’ imagine his life if ye dare
Before ye start sayin’ he’s thick.

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 Every week at the football match, there are men
Not much more clever than him
But how many come from a family of ten
And were left to sink or swim?

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 He’s not all that daft, he knows what yous think
He sees yer sly wink an’ nod
So, count yourselves lucky that your’re in the pink
An’ leave the judgement to God.

Notes

There are a few like him…
