Please stop the Mexican Wave

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I think it should be banned
it looks pathetic and out of date
you’re there to watch the football
even when it’s boring and far from great.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 England fans just sat with folded arms
and if I was there so would I
they even do it at Wimbledon
but then Tennis is like watching paint dry.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 They do it now and again at our place
but I ignore it and just stare ahead
me and my mates have been called killjoys
because we prefer watching the match instead.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 So please stop the silly Mexican Wave
stick it into Room 101 where it belongs
instead act like real football fans at games
and clap, swear at the ref, and sing songs !

Notes

As I’ve written before I’ve enjoyed the Euros, but two things have got on my nerves a lot and they are the Mexican Wave and people in the crowds posing when the camera comes on them.

My son said if there watching the game how do they know the camera is pointing at them ?

You see women smiling as if they’re auditioning for a film role !

I know football is changing constantly, but surely we want to watch the match, or am I just an old fashioned football Dinosaur ?
