Raining On Our Party

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It should be an occasion that we never will forget,
But it’s raining on the party and we’re getting soaking wet.
Once more the floods are rising, ‘tis a flood of fiscal debt,
And Ollie’s hands are wringing, and his brow is bathed in sweat.
There are rumours that some contracts are not going to be met,
And the players are getting nervous and are more disposed to fret.
Our chances now in Europe are not even worth a bet.
How long before the signs go up ‘round Tolka Park – “To Let”?
Little did we think whenever Jayo found the net
That we’d get an invitation to this little tête-à-tête,
One thing is for certain, though, whatever news we get,
The spirit of this football club will not be finished yet.

Notes

Meeting called for Monday night.
