From the depths of defeat, the empire arose,
Bruised and battered, blood on its clothes,
It lifted its sword, gleaming and bright,
From the root of its being there sprung a great light,
It bellowed in rage and struck out its wrath,
For those nonbelievers – no more would they laugh,
The people they cried, on their knees did they pray,
An arrogant grin – it relished the slay,
As it gained in momentum, its confidence grew,
The beast has returned – its name was MAN U
