Running The Line

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 running the line
for the under fifteens
a row of daisies
finding my heart’s in it
but my body’s not

Notes

that moment when you realise you’ve made that final transition from player to linesman to spectator and there’s no going back..

This is a tanka poem .. in Japanese they follow a strict 5/7/5/7/7 syllable form but in English we are not so strict… if it looks like a tanka feels like a tanka then it probably is one.. this one uses the middle line as a ‘pivot’ … Paul 😉
