Same Old Story

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 One of us was lying
One of us was trying
To deceive the fans
Hushed up transfer dealing
Not caring for the feeling
Of the crowded stands
Saying Dean was injured
In safety he malingered
Waiting for the cash to come
You didn’t want him cup-tied
Took the fans for a ride
Sold him for seven million
You’ll stand by the decision
Appear on television
And say the player wanted out
We know it’s one big con
Another decent player gone
We hope you follow soon

Notes

You can’t keep someone who wants to go. But why do they always want to go hey Nigel? Time to look at the bigger picture, you can’t tell the fans you’re building for the future when you’re selling 22 year olds good enough to play in the Premiership.
