Sit Down or Stand Up ?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Stewards telling you to sit down
as you’re blocking peoples view
well let’s have a standing section
surely it’s the wisest thing to do ?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I bet if they did a survey
standing would win outright
sitting is for the theatre
or the movies on a Saturday night.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Behind the goal would be best
just like it used to be
or have a designated area
just like we have at Coventry.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 So should we sit or stand
the choice for me or you ?
myself I prefer to stand
as long as I don’t block your view !

I’ve been reading about a campaign by the Football Supporters Federation, for clubs to consider trying out a pilot scheme where a section of the ground is used by fans wanting to stand up to watch matches.

They say it was used in Germany and it was so popular it is now the norm there.

We have a standing section here at Coventry in the corner of the arena, set up to stop all the arguing between our fans and other fans and stewards because they kept standing up, causing tension which boiled over many times.

Obviously if fans prefer to sit that is up to them, but we know how passionate Football is at times, it does get you to your feet.

But if it is done properly and safely I can’t see why clubs don’t give it a try ?
