Taboo Tattoo

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 For years, he’d wanted to do it
Since he was just a teenage boy
Everyone was to admire it
It would be his pride and joy

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Much pain he had to endure
Sat in that shiny leather chair
But fourteen pints of lager
Meant he didn’t have a care

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 In honour of his football team
A bold inscription on his arm
It was only by the grace of God
That tattooist suffered no harm

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 When the dressing was removed
And his new tattoo revealed
He took one look at the spelling
And that was when he squealed

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 He looked away and looked again
And screamed a mighty aargh!!
For there was the word LIVEPOOL
Without the letter “R”

Notes

This actually happened to a good friend of mine. If he ever finds FOOTBALL POETS and reads this poem …

Sorry mate. I couldn’t resist.
