The Aftermath of the Asia Cup Final

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I’m depressed after JJ’s miss,
So that’s why I’m writing this.
The Asia Cup final was so depressing,
Three of our players missed penalties – I’m not messing.
First up was Shearer, who’s usually so reliable.
His miss was terrible, and that’s undeniable.
Next was Robert, who blazed his wide.
On that day we were a terrible side!
But the worst of the lot had to be JJ –
His should get Miss of the Year, never mind Of The Day.
But they weren’t all missed – we scored four.
If only we had scored some more!
Bellamy, Bowyer, Woodgate and Dyer –
Those four players were on fire!
They buried theirs in the back of the net,
And they were all being booed – don’t you forget!
So just to let you know that I still feel the same
As I did the day after that game!

Notes

Amazing how much I cared about a pre-season friendly… I suppose it would have proved a point if we’d beaten a team with all that cash. But that was nothing – in the Premiership last year, Chelski beat us 5-0. I had all these glory-hunters at school crowing in my face the day after that match. But I could laugh – at least I’ve supported the Toon for more than one season…
