The FA Cup the Hard Way

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 90 minutes is all it should have been to hold the glory smile
But the Hammers pushed us way too hard and made us go the extra mile
First came Jamie, now what a swine as he kicked the ball across the line
But not in the goal where it should have been, it was in the goal of his own team

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 A second goal from the Hammers left us numb, our jaws dragging on the floor
But we don’t lose hope on final days, we have seen it all before
Then out of nowhere came our first attack, as Cisse hit the net
That ball flew in, I wish that I had placed that bloody bet

We could not concede another goal, we could not take that blow
2 – 2 the score flashed up on the board, the boys had pulled us even
Where would we be without our captain, our super hero Steven

Could we pull an Istanbul and get it back again
We played the game the hard way, we never make it easy
Then thankfully in injury time, came a wonder goal from Stevie

They never practiced cramp relief back in the Anfield camp
So for an extra half an hour our lads were put to the test
They took it to penalties, could Reina play his best

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 That Spanish lad took his place inbetween the posts
”This lad can save the penalties” the commentator boasts
So he stood his ground as the shots fired in, he kept them from the net
Was this another wonder boy, being as good as he can get

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 He saved that shot from Ferdinand, the boys had bagged their game
A wonder save from our goalie remember Reina was his name
We won the cup and brought it home, the fans they paved the way
The super Reds had once again shone through a Cup Final day.
