The Morning After

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The morning after Saturday’s defeat
Torn up programs litter the street
Feeling calmer than the day before
Trying to forget the final score
Start discussing scenarios
Some ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ might heal our woes
Looking forward to next weeks game
Confidence quickly coming back again
Growing stronger with each new day
We’ll pick up three points next week O.K.
That four nil’ loss was just a fluke
We should have won…it makes me puke’
The final score….just didn’t jive
Justice served…. we should’ve had five
We could appeal…but they’re all stone deaf
Those jammy guys….. must have paid the ref
In which case now I don’t feel so sad
Unrealistically……….We ain’t that bad!
