The Serious Sexton

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The serious sexton, the grave grave digger –
When he tried to play football, the people would snigger.
Unsmiling, he’d stand on the penalty spot,
But when chances arose, he would aye lose the plot.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Until, came a day in this very short story,
The ball was crossed in for his moment of glory.
And true to his job and without breaking sweat,
He buried the ball in the back of the net.
